BetaFPV Pavo20 Pro II: What Actually Fixed the GPS

Twisted wire lengths, 22pF filters, a fully isolated bench setup, a grounded foil wrap and power taken from different pads. None of it moved the satellite count. So I unsoldered everything and put a GEPRC Taker G4 35A in instead, which fixed the GPS, unlocked 4S, and left me wondering whether the result is still a Pavo20.

My third radio, and the first one I chose for a reason that never appears in a review: it fits in the top box of a GS Adventure alongside two drones, goggles and batteries. What the six customisable function switches actually enable, and where the GX12 loses to a Boxer.

Why one horizontal and one vertical on a true diversity receiver beats a single antenna, and why my telemetry already measures it.

ELRS telemetry ratio, CRSF frame round-robin and the EdgeTX log period sit in series. Why the arithmetic is not the answer, how to get the real per-sensor rate out of your own CSV, and the 3D viewer I built to read it.
Read MoreThe callouts come from the stock EdgeTX voice pack, not from anything I recorded. What to scrub from a model YAML before publishing it, and the positional sensor-index trap that makes a shared config misbehave silently.

A low-battery number in the corner of the OSD is an interface failure, not a pilot failure. Why I made my RadioMaster GX12 speak, and the one flight-controller setting the whole thing depends on.
Read MoreAntenna placement is one of the most overlooked range factors. A perfectly tuned ELRS link loses 10–20 dB when the antenna is oriented wrong — the equivalent of cutting TX power by 90%. Why Antenna Orientation Matters Omnidirectional antennas (dipoles, linear, RHCP/LHCP) have a radiation pattern shaped like a donut — …

Two critical settings must match between transmitter module (TX) and receiver (RX): regulatory domain and bind phrase. Regulatory Domain: FCC vs LBT (ELRS/CE) ELRS firmware is compiled for a specific radio regulatory domain …

Setup (bind phrase, domain) lives in ELRS Configuration; the OSD numbers live in RC Telemetry. This snippet is the wire- and …

They measure the same link from different angles — and knowing which one to watch prevents both false alarms and missed warnings. What Each Metric Measures flowchart LR TX([Transmitter]) -->|RF …
